Richlite® Paper Composite Panels and Countertops for the Kitchen, Bath and Workspace
We are proud to be Richlite’s exclusive Southeast US and Caribbean Distributor of paper composite products, which are an ideal green solution for countertops and work surfaces, indoor and outdoor paneling, millwork and furniture, and numerous other architectural applications. Richlite is an environmentally sustainable material that is made of paper that is either from Forest Stewardship Council certified forests throughout North America, or from 50% and 100% post-consumer recycled corrugated cardboard and paper respectively. The paper is treated with a safe resin and then pressed and baked to create solid panels and slabs.
Although paper composite countertops and products sound fragile and temperamental, Richlite is extremely durable, stable and impervious to water. It has proven to be stronger than solid surface and stone and has been utilized in the aerospace and marine industry for over 40 years by companies like Boeing and Boston Whaler. Richlite is heat resistant up to 350°F, scratch resistant because it is more dense and durable than wood and highly resistant to stains.
Richlite also is food safe and does not support the colonization of bacteria, thereby making the product ideal for the kitchen environment.
Finally, Richlite emits no harmful indoor air pollutants like formaldehyde and has earned the rigorous GREENGUARD certification for Children and Schools.
If you are an architect, designer, fabricator, millworker or homeowner who is interested in environmental sustainability, indoor air quality and LEED™ green building certification, Richlite is an ideal alternative to solid surface (e.g., Corian), stone and wood. LEED credits are available in two categories, namely Materials and Resources (MR 4.1, 4.2 and 7) and Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ 4.4).
