Alterna was launched to meet the growing demand for green building materials and home products in the Southeast, Latin America and the Caribbean. The company is a proud member of the U.S. Green Building Council and we are the first supplier in South Florida to focus exclusively on green building materials and home products. Although the market for green building products is relatively new in the territories we serve, we leverage a world class distribution platform with a 25 year track record of success and continued growth in the region.
We are strategically located in Miami, FL, the Gateway to the Americas, which affords us easy access to markets in North, Central and South America, the Caribbean and beyond.
Our warehouse capabilities include both in-house and third party storage in excess of 50,000 square feet. Our logistics department is experienced at arranging all sizes of shipments by road, rail, air and sea, including for highly regulated cargo, such as chemicals.
To demonstrate our commitment to building a greener future, we are proud to offset 100% of our electricity consumption with Green-e Certified renewable energy credits, thereby eliminating the entire carbon dioxide footprint of our electricity consumption. We are also strong supporters of the Dream in GreenSM Foundation, a Miami-based 501(c)(3) non-profit promoting conservation, energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy.
